Deacon's Corner

Hello and welcome to Deacon's Corner! This is a new page on our website and we will be adding to it as time goes by.

Monthly Examen

The Prayer of Examen is a form of prayer developed by St. Ignatius of Loyola (1491–1556) as part of his work on “spiritual exercises.” It is often a prayer at the end of the day but is also used at other times. It is a way of reviewing the day with God with the intention of examining our need for forgiveness and healing, reconciliation and recommitment.

Deacon Theresa will lead our Examen once a month on the last Monday of each month from 7.30pm. During our sessions we will thank God for the gifts of life and the past month and ask Him to allow us to see the month as we have lived it and in light of God’s will.

Forthcoming dates for Examen - all sessions start at 7.30pm and should finish by about 8.45pm

Monday 31st January
Monday 28th February
Monday 28th March
Monday 25th April
If you'd like to join the Examen sessions, please contact Deacon Theresa (see below for her contact details) for the Zoom link.

Foodbank Venues across Ealing

The Greenford Foodbank continues to operate from Greenford Baptist Church, Beechwood Road, UB6 9UA.

Centres in Northolt and Perivale are now open

These new centres will have the same selection of products as the more established foodbank centres, but with less of the hustle and bustle (and queueing!). Clients living/accessing help in the UB5 and UB6 postcodes may find these centres to be more convenient.

Please click the link for the Ealing Foodbanks website to view a full list of venues and their opening times.

Foodbank Clients: Please bring your referral code and note that centres are usually closed on Bank Holidays – details can be found on the Foodbank website.

Crosslight Advice - Working with Ealing Foodbank

Crosslight Advice is an independent, community-focused Christian charity working to alleviate poverty caused by problem debt and lack of financial capability.

Crosslight’s vision is to restore dignity and hope to those in need by reducing debt-poverty and improving financial capability through the provision of free face-to-face advice, money education, and ongoing support. The aim is to meet people at their point of need and support them through to full restoration, however long that takes.

Crosslight works hand-in-hand with local partners including Ealing Foodbank to provide advice at ‘drop-in’ centres, online and through case work.

Crosslight is currently looking for volunteers to help with their work alongside Ealing Foodbank - click here to read more about Crosslight's work and volunteer roles.

If you would like to know more, please email or register your interest on the Crosslight Advice website, ticking Ealing as the branch preference.
