Circuit Bible Studies

The Circuit Bible Studies have been paused while Rachel is at Methodist Conference.

I the Thursday Bible studies we have been looking at passages in the bible which are not read in church. In looking at the stories of some of the women in the bible we have sometimes been tempted to think of these as looking at the ‘X-rated bible’! I past weeks we’ve thought about women who were prostitutes, prophets, married to their brothers and so much more besides. Our conversations have been lively, energetic and full of reality and laughter. Come along and join in the conversations.

Our next sessions will be on Thursday 8th July at 2.00pm and 8.00pm. We will be looking at 1 Kings 3:16-28 where two women argue over a baby.

Please contact Rev Rachel Bending or the Circuit Office for the Zoom link to join the Bible Studies

Examen

Deacon Theresa Simons-Sam will be starting monthly ‘Examen’ sessions on Monday 28th June at 7.30pm. The Prayer of Examen is a form of prayer developed by St. Ignatius of Loyola (1491–1556) as part of his work on “spiritual exercises.” It is often a prayer at the end of the day but is also used at other times. It is a way of reviewing the day with God with the intention of examining our need for forgiveness and healing, reconciliation and recommitment.

Deacon Theresa will lead our Examen once a month on the last Monday of each month from 7.30pm. During our sessions we will thank God for the gifts of life and the past month and ask Him to allow us to see the month as we have lived it and in light of God’s will.

The dates for Examen over the coming months are as follows- all sessions start at 7.30pm and should finish by about 8.45pm.

Monday 28th June                                        Monday 26th July
August - to be advised                                  Monday 27th September
