Rachel Bending's Sunday Letter

Sunday 12th July 2020

I will be taking some time off this week but will still lead the prayer meeting and Bible Studies.

On 26th July at 4.00pm we will have a Circuit Service and tea (bring your own tea and cake!) on Zoom to say goodbye to Lemia and Yemi. I’m looking forward to receiving more recordings of people singing ‘We are Marching’ and ‘This this is the God We Adore’ by this coming Friday. The backing tracks are on the Rachel Bending Worship YouTube page and they have instructions with them. Any chance some of you with smart phones could visit others and record them singing?  It would be great to include as many as possible. Similarly, if you know someone in your church who is unable to link to Zoom, could you link up with them on the 26th to join the service together?

I’m also hoping for more comments to print.

While opening our churches is going to take a while longer (hopefully some will open at the beginning of September)  we can begin to gather together in small groups for worship and support in gardens, parks and in smaller groups in houses. Different people have different restrictions about meeting others. So it would be great if you could make up your own small groups but keep an eye out to make sure no one is left out who’d like to join in.

Looking forward our Circuit Welcome Service will be on 6th September at 4.00pm. We will be welcoming Deacon Theresa Sam as part of our team.

I wanted to let you know how encouraged and heartened I have been by the comments I’ve heard about the support you’ve given each other during lockdown and the ways in which fellowship has deepened and been enriched through a period that has been hard for many.

As we continue to pray for all who have suffered loss, we also remember all those who have worked so hard and risked so much to help us all.

In all that has been and all that is to be I know that nothing can separate us from the love of God.

Blessings and love,

Rachel
